Dec-O-Art Donates to Care Camps Foundation to Support Children with Cancer

Dec-O-Art, The Label Experts, celebrated its first donation to Care Camps Foundation, kicking off an ongoing partnership to support children and families affected by cancer. The contribution of over $4,500 is the first of many annual donations through this commitment.

This donation reflects the strength of Dec-O-Art’s partnership with Forest River, in which proceeds from co-branded Forest River and Care Camps Foundation decals directly support the Foundation’s mission. Care Camps Foundation funds medically supervised oncology camps that allow children with cancer, and their families, to experience the joy and healing power of the outdoors.

Founded in 1984 by a caring group of KOA campground owners, Care Camps Foundation is the only national non-profit dedicated solely to funding camps for children with cancer in the U.S. and Canada. These camps combine expert medical care with traditional camp activities, giving children a safe space to play, bond, and rediscover joy.

Dec-O-Art’s Donation Day Contributes $75,000 to Local Nonprofits Chosen by Employees

The Label Experts at Dec-O-Art stepped away from their stations and into the community for their third annual Donation Day. Each year, the company closes its doors to dedicate a full day of hands-on service at local nonprofit organizations chosen by employees.

Team members were divided into groups and assisted with whatever was most needed—from landscaping and organizing clothing to assembling shelving and furniture. This year’s service day supported three impactful organizations: Angels in the Attic, Center for the Homeless, and Mishawaka Troop Town.

In addition to their volunteer hours, Dec-O-Art presented each nonprofit with a $25,000 donation, for a combined total of $75,000. This contribution will help strengthen the vital services these organizations provide in the community.

Angels in the Attic has served Michiana for 14 years, primarily in St. Joseph and Elkhart counties. The organization has supported more than 6,500 victims of domestic abuse by providing emergency aid, food, clothing, hygiene products, and financial relief. Their mission is to provide confidential, professional assistance to women and children leaving abusive situations.

Center for the Homeless, established in 1988, has served over 65,000 individuals. Each year, the Center provides 73,000 safe bed stays and more than 180,000 meals. Beyond emergency services, they offer resources and programming to help men, women, children, and veterans break the cycle of homelessness.

Mishawaka Troop Town is a veteran-owned initiative dedicated to housing and supporting homeless or in-need veterans. Their programs focus on building healthy, productive lives through community involvement and holistic support for spiritual, mental, and physical well-being.

Donation Day not only emphasizes the company’s role as a business leader but also a community pillar committed to philanthropy and service.

Dec-O-Art is proud to give back to the community and support those in need. In line with this commitment, the company has partnered with the Care Camps Foundation. For every Care Camps and Forest River co-branded decal sold, Dec-O-Art will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Care Camps Foundation, which provides life-changing experiences to children living with cancer and their families.

Founded in 1984 by a group of Kampgrounds of America (KOA) owners, Care Camps began as a grassroots effort to fund pediatric oncology camps. Dec-O-Art, a leading label manufacturer based in Elkhart, Indiana, has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the Michiana community through its annual Donation Day event. This year, our company closed its doors for a day to enable all employees to dedicate their time and efforts to local non-profit organizations, resulting in a profound impact on the community.

The Donation Day initiative, driven by the collective spirit of Dec-O-Art’s employees, saw volunteers spread across three significant local organizations: Center for Hospice Care, Center for the Homeless, and Women’s Care Center. Dec-O-Art’s Donation Day Enriches Michiana With Over 300 Hours of Volunteering and $60,000 in Donations

Dec-O-Art, the premier label manufacturer, has a long-standing tradition of giving back to their community, but this year they took it a step further. Located in Elkhart Indiana, the Label Experts at Dec-O-Art hosted their first-ever Donation Day on Friday, September 8th, to enrich Michiana.

The Donation Day event involved closing down operations, so the company’s employees could volunteer at three local, non-profit organizations. Dec-O-Art’s employee-driven, community support initiative allowed the team to select the organizations they wanted to impact, which included Bashor Children’s Home, Center for the Homeless, and Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Dec-O-Art is a family-owned company that is triumphing with their third-generation Owner and President, Nathan Dosmann. Nathan reflected on the purpose of Donation Day.

“Donation Day was created to step back and recognize that Dec-O-Art is God’s gift to us, and our work is our gift to God. We are choosing to close the doors of Dec-O-Art for the day and open ourselves to hands-on service to our community.

As if this day wasn’t already incredible, on top of volunteering employee’s time, the Label Experts also awarded the three local non-profits with a charitable donation check on $20,000 each! Over 300 hours of combined volunteer work and $60,000 of gifted donations was the rewarding result of Donation Day.

This is monumental for Dec-O-Art, as it was the first time the business closed to inspire all-day volunteering and the largest sum of money donated in a single day to their beloved community.

“Taking time to close our business, load up the vans and cars, and take our whole team into the community speaks to the love and compassion we have for the Michiana community. I could not be more proud of the impact that our team has had through their generosity. Dec-O-Art has been part of our community for more than 50 years and we are vested in continuing to witness our community flourish,” said Nathan.

Dec-O-Art Donates $25,000 to Homeless in South Bend

The label manufacturers located in Elkhart created an employee-driven donation strategy and the Dec-O-Art team elected for The Center for the Homeless to receive a contribution of $25,000.

The Center for the Homeless is the largest residential facility for anyone experiencing homelessness in South Bend. The organization has been helping our community since 1988. During that time, they have served more than 65,000 individuals in need. Their important mission is to break the cycle of homelessness.

To conquer their goal, they provide their guests with programming and resources, like comprehensive education and job training programs for adults. Dec-O-Art has recognized the extreme impact that The Center for the Homeless has locally. Because of this, they have donated to the non-profit for over thirty years. Owner of Dec-O-Art, Ron Dosmann, along with Owner and President, Nathan Dosmann, were eager to continue the support for The Center for the Homeless and present them with a $25,000 donation.

Accepting the donation check on behalf of the Center for the Homeless was Steve Camilleri, Executive Director, and Taya Chapman, the Chief Development Officer, for the non-profit organization. Both Steve and Taya were exploding with gratitude for the donation and described the impact that the contribution will have.

“I promise you this donation makes a difference. With this donation, you are giving hope to the guests at the Center for the Homeless. We just want to thank you and express your gratitude for really making a huge difference.” exclaimed Steve.

The Center for the Homeless plans to utilize this donation to help finance upcoming fundraising events and to remodel their Veteran’s Center, which is home to over twenty military veterans.

$12,000 Donated to Support National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS)

For more than 50 years, Dec-O-Art, has called Elkhart their home. The company has three core values: service, quality, and community. To support their commitment to the community, Dec-O-Art created an employee-driven donation strategy and the team elected for National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) to receive a contribution of $12,000.

NMSS is a nonprofit organization that pursues their mission to help end multiple sclerosis (MS), the disease that impacts the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Thus far, the organization has improved the diagnoses time, funded research for prevention and treatment, and positively impacted the lives of the affected individuals. Seeing the incredible value of the nonprofit, Dec-O-Art, awarded them with a donation. Owner of Dec-O-Art, Ron Dosmann, along with Owner and President, Nathan Dosmann, presented the donation to NMSS on behalf of the company.

The Indiana NMSS Development Manager, Amy Treber, was present to receive the donation. She accepted the $12,000 check with an exceeding amount of appreciation and informed the group of the level of impact the donation will have for the organization.

“The National MS Society is the leading organization in striding towards the end of MS. While The Society’s mission is to end MS, we know there is more work to be done before we get to that milestone to make sure that everyone living with MS and their caregivers live their best lives. The Society funds research to stop, restore and end MS, hosts virtual programming, and provides resources such as our MS Navigator program. With partners like Dec-O-Art, the National MS Society can be a support system for the one million Americans living with MS at all points of their MS journey.” Amy stated.
