   The following is a list of recommended file formats that would allow our Art Department to best provide a quality product in the most timely manner.
   
   Vector formats (for spot color printing):
   Dec-O-Art, Inc. creates artwork for production using Adobe Illustrator and would prefer the art in Illustrator format (.ai). The listed programs are also vector format programs and many will ‘save as’ or export in the .ai format. If necessary, we can also open many files saved in their native format. Some PDF files can also be opened as vector artwork.
   
   Adobe Illustrator
   (.ai, .pdf or .eps)
   Coreldraw (.cdr)
   Macromedia Freehand
   Autocad (.dwg or .dxf)*: CAD files: Explode blocks; specify any requested font styles; export as .ai if possible.
   
   Page Layout Programs:
   We can open the following page layout programs. These may require a great deal of time and manipulation to format to our production process.
   
   QuarkXPress 6.0 or lower
   Pagemaker 6.5 or lower
   
   Image Formats (for continuous tone – 4-color - printing):
   Dec-O-Art, Inc. can accept most image formats when using the file as a template to reproduce art for spot color work. The following formats are preferred for continuous tone or 4-color process printing. When creating files for 4-color process, images should be saved in RGB mode to exact production size with a minimum resolution of 200 dpi. Embedded profiles should be included and target color samples or proofs should be supplied if color is critical. (The Photoshop and tiff formats are preferred; keeping layers intact is also preferred.)

   Files can be sent via e-mail directly to your salesperson. We request that all files sent over the internet be compressed in PKZip or Stuffit if possible. We also accept standard 3.5 disks, Zip 100 disks, or CD’s.
   
   Please note: We request that all fonts be outlined or provided. If using PDF format, outline all fonts if possible. Placed images (in vector and page layout programs) should be sent along with the file.
   
   As with all computer generated information, some formats listed may fail to open properly.
   
   WE REQUEST A HARD COPY OF ALL ARTWORK FOR VERIFICATION.

   Dec- o- Art prides itself on delivering your product on time and right each time. Our lead times rarely exceed 20 working days, and some products can ship the next day.

4. What is Deco-Lens?

   Deco-Lens is a process of pouring a polyurethane liquid over a decal to create a 3-dimensional, high gloss effect. It enhances the look of the decal and adds durability since it prevents scratching, discoloring and fading.
